Setting Up Email Alert Notifications
Overview
Unlike the other integrations, this one isn't a data source — it's how Ironclad reaches you. Adding alert emails tells Ironclad who should be notified by email when a security alert fires. Delivery is handled by Decian's own email infrastructure, so there's no external account to set up on your end — you just tell the portal who should get notified.
Before you start: Decide which email address(es) should receive alert notifications. You can list more than one.
Step 1: Open Integrations
- Log in to the Ironclad portal.
- Make sure the correct customer is selected in the scope bar at the top.
- In the left sidebar, under Administration, click Integrations.
Find the SendGrid card.
Step 2: Add recipient addresses
- In the Alert Emails field, enter the email address(es) that should receive alert notifications, separated by commas (e.g.
soc@example.com, itmanager@example.com). - Check the Enabled checkbox.
- Click Save. You'll see a brief Saved confirmation.
Step 3: Confirm it's working
The next alert that fires for your environment will be emailed to the addresses you entered. If you want to confirm delivery without waiting for a real alert, ask your Decian contact to trigger a test notification.
Troubleshooting
- Not receiving emails: double-check the addresses are spelled correctly and separated by commas with no typos, and check your spam/junk folder.
- Need to change recipients: update the Alert Emails field with the new list and save — this replaces the previous list rather than adding to it.
